There are several cycling maps, and there are also marked routes from our place. This is for both regular bikes and mountain bikes.
We have adopted the label "Bienvenue vélo" or "Bikes Welcome", which gives you the guarantee that we take great delight in welcoming you and your bike.
We live at 2 km from the RAVeL la ligne 126 between Ciney and Huy. This particularly beautiful cycling route of almost 41 km follows the bed of the former railway L126 that connected Ciney to Statte (Huy).
In the first part through the Condroz-Famenne you cycle almost imperceptibly, very slightly up and down (max. 1%) between the low, undulating hills of about 200 to 300 metres high on which forests alternate with fertile agricultural and pasture land. The second part of this route descends past Clavier through woods via Modave to Pont-de-Bonne and then runs until Marchin through the rocky, enclosed and overwhelmingly green valley of the little river Hoyoux. And then you end up near our farm.
The famous "Mur de Huy", the arrival point for the semi-classic De Waalse Pijl (La Flèche Wallonne) and the Belgian arrival point for the 2015 Tour de France, is located at 10 km. Mind you ... Once you arrive at the wall, it's always uphill again to get back home. So don't shoot all your arrows at "the wall". If you want to ride a part of "The Tour de France in the Condroz", we can give you the route.
Bicycle routes can also be found on RouteYou in Vierset and, especially for mountain bikes, on SityTrail.
There is room to dry your wet sports or rain gear.
There are various NGI maps available from the tourist offices in Modave and Huy and from the region Terre-de-Meuse. To make it easier for you, we have several routes ourselves that we can also give you in .gpx version, so that they are easy to follow via a gpx viewer.
You can also find cycling routes on RouteYou with departure from B&B aux 4 saules and, especially for mountain bikes, on SityTrail.
(Electric) bikes and mountain bikes can be rented at B.Cycl. in Huy (La Sarte). This must of course be booked in advance!
La Flèche Wallonne
La Flèche Wallonne is a major men's professional cycle road race held in April each year. The first of two Belgian Ardennes classics is held mid-week between the Amstel Gold Race and Liège–Bastogne–Liège. .
This race was first run in 1936. In the final, the riders must complete three laps of a tough circuit including the steep Mur de Huy (The wall of Huy) climb, which includes several sections steeper than 15%, and a sheer climb to 26% on one particularly challenging section. The finish is placed at the top of the Mur after the third ascent.
